HOW WOULD YOU ROCK OVERALLS?

Before you answer how you would rock overalls we must first establish that overalls ARE stylish!  SO many question their style value and we are here to tell you that they are a GO, though it is a trend that you must wear without any apprehension.  Now let’s get into how you should wear them.

For starters, fit is everything.  You can go for a fitted overall which usually has plenty of stretch or you can go for a baggier fit with a tapered leg.  Both styles are far away from the 80’s but a nod to the era, all the same.

Mimi went with the stretch fit, something like a skinny jeans for overalls.  She paired it with a sneaker and a tee for a fun cool’ girl look.  And yes we love fanny packs! Tieko did a baggy fit, think boyfriend jeans, dark wash overall.  She paired it with a turtle neck and a blazer, plus pumps for a chic’ish effect.

Side note, we are slightly manicure obsessed!

A style tip for overalls is to keep proportions in mind so the fitted pair works better with sneakers than the baggy pair would–and a cuff is always a Y-E-S, Yes!

Enough about us, tell us how you would rock overalls?

BEST BOOTIES IN THE WORLD!

So honestly this post could be entitled black & white or casual leather (round 2) BUT, and this is a big but, It is all about the bootie. Mimi bought two colors so yes, we love it and you should too.

Is it the perforated suede, the slouch, the draw string, the peep toe…it is everything.  This shoe bootie is EVERYTHING!

It is the bootie that can go with anything and does not require much styling if that is the mood you are in.  Our mood though was leather, with black and white.

Mimi opted for a chunky knit sweater and leather legging.  The deep slits on the side of the sweater hit in perfect proportion for a legging.

STYLE TIP: Chunky knits below the behind pairs great with leggings and is spot on for balancing body proportions.

Tieko: Cape F21 / culottes HERE
Tieko decided to pair two current trends; culottes and a cape.  Houndstooth is a classic print that can live in your closet forever.

Something else to note about a peep toe bootie,  it pairs perfect with opaque tights if you are in colder climates. YESSS!

How would you rock these booties, we would love to know! and if you want to see us style a particular look or item let us know in the comments.

ONE DENIM SHIRT TWO WAYS

Of course you know by now that we tend to do things our way! As for this 3/4 length sleeved denim shirt that looks like denim flannel (it does right?), let’s discuss shall we?

It is no wonder that we both decided to pair it with denim. Tieko layered it over a denim duster. Light layers are the easiest way for us do Fall in California.

Shirts, H&M / Tieko: Duster, Lotus Halo / Boots, Sam Edelman / Necklace, Anthropologie
Mimi: Jeans, Gap / Cape, H&M / Boots, Top Shop / Necklace, J Crew

The barely-above the ankle fringe boots adds loads of personality.  Mimi played up the darker denim with a pair of dark wash skinnies.  The rich rust in the knit cape and Chelsea boot delivers on this chic cas'(ual) look.

Which look is you? How would you work this denim shirt?
