ONE CHECKERED TUNIC WORN TWO WAYS

 

Another one of those same pieces worn our way.  Shopping should be about buying pieces that can be worked multiple ways which is true for this tunic. And believe us there are a few more ways to wear it.

If you are wondering what to look for when shopping with a versatile eye consider  factors like the shape.  This will tell you things like can it be layered.  Look for the length.  This will tell you things like can it be work as a top and a dress.  Consider the colors and can it be paired with other colors.

Mimi opted for wearing the tunic as a top.   She left the top button open, and though it is a small detail it adds a casual stylish impact.  She paired it with tattered denim.

STYLE TIP:  If you are wondering how to wear tattered denim, a blouse like a tunic or a button up is a good place to start.  We wear them with sneakers and tees but that might be too casual for some.

Tieko wore the tunic as mini dress and paired it with navy opaque tights.  She added a bright rust shootie because navy can be a neutral color that goes great with bright colors like green, rust, red, and burgundy.

Style Tip: Colored tights work really well when they are in the same or similar color palette of what you are wearing.

TWO PIECE PLAID SUIT WORN TWO WAYS

Having the ability to look at something that doesn’t necessarily have “hanger appeal” takes training, lol First you MUST be able to envision what it will look like on…

When we saw this plaid two piece from Zara, we immediately grabbed it because not only would it be uber comfy, it was going to be one of the items in your closet that you wear all the time. It has such great possibilities because you can dress it up or down; wear it to work or run errands around town looking chic.

 

Tieko decided to layer hers with a great pull over with side slits. The grey and silver shoes take her look to another level.

Mimi wore it with a denim jacket and sneakers for a casual “out-the-door” look. Wearing the denim jacket cut at the waist helps to define the proportions.

STYLE TIP: If you are unsure about wearing an “all over” print, use something like a layering piece to break up the print the way Tieko did.
